Being organized, ontop of everything and full of new ideas are nearly just the icing on the cake of what libraria media specialists in schools cover. One of the main responsibilities of a librarian is to communicate and collaborate with anyone and everyone including teahcers, parents, staff, town, students, etc. Through creating/maintainng/redoing a website I now appreciate the teahcers and professors who always had their lesson plans, objectives, ideas and thoughts continually updated on their website.
When asking Peggy to update her website due to the fact it had not been updated for a bit and it was going to need to be redone for the upcoming school year I had way to many spots I wanted to start from. Using Inspiration as a tool to collect my thoughts was the best thing ever. From there I had a plan and direction of what the students and parents would need from me and what I wanted them to know.
Once getting onto the website and logging in it was a breeze from there. It was much easier then blogging, myspace or facebook from the beginning. You create, edit and adjust to whatever you like. One thing I did not like was not being able to add pictures I wanted of the actual library or students. It is in the protection of the school that the technology guy has to upload them so that there is permission and it being summer that can not be done right now. However, when he does get back it will be a point, click and up in one second!
This was a great project overall to getting us on our feet in some of our last classes to being librarians on our own!

Video Reflection
Open up a book and open up a new world!!
This was a great project to help learn how to promote the library in a catchy way. Not only was it fun and something new but it was easy too! Once I got the animoto account I sat and played with it for a long time. There are so many ways you could incorporate this into the schools. Each month you could update what your doing in the library. I would defiantly do this each month when I get my own library to show what new books are available. This was a great project to do and will defiantly be carrying it over into my teaching!

IN IRELAND!!!!
WE MADE IT!!
After being delayed in Great Falls for what was suppose to be a "20 minute" delay and turning into almost a two hour one. We then run across the Denver airport to see our plane there yet the door closed to board. As our plane is about to start taxing away it pulls back up and our luggage is getting onto the plane without us!! With some work, bugging some people and running around we finally make it onto the plane after they reopen the plane!! Once in London we of course missed our next flight however, all 13 of us got onto the next flight and finally arrived into DUBLIN!!

Bear Snores On Podcast
http://www.steekr.com/n/50-17/share/LNK64244a583387f089b/
Above is the link to get to the podcast of, Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman.
Creating this podcast was a great experience! After making this I realized how simple you can start out with the kids at first then build onto it as far as they want to go. It is a simple program that you can do wonders with! Not only is it fairly simple to use but it is a great concept!
With podcasts you can create, share and also listen to everybody’s. This allows for great opportunities to learn on and see how somebody else interprets a book maybe differently. You can use these to teach kids about different subjects you may not be a an expert on. Stories you may not have access to but would like to listen to. Listen to various ways poems can be read and may change the whole context, and so much more!
I would defiantly use them in the classroom to show students how what you may see and hear is different from others and that it is OK! Also, to use at home or when they have free time to listen to books. This would allow them to get that reading in with some excitement but yet still increase their vocabulary at the same time.
Every teacher/educational setting I think should use technology in one way or another and podcasts I see are a great way to do that! You can do it as simple or as complex as you need/want to. Plus, there are so many resources out there with podcasts we all should be taking advantage of that plus sharing our own!

Degree Tutor Library
I am following this one due to the fact it has background information about libraries if you go onto it's site. It gives a lot of foundational information that I am not too familiar with. It however does not have a lot of new posts on it.
Libraries.iub.edu Online Database Search
This is a great one to follow due to the fact it helps you find what you need! As a librarian one of our main roles is to help students learn how to answer their own questions. This does a great job of breaking down what is in what database and finding ways to help our students succeed.
Library Education
Nobody ever stops learning and this is a great blog for continually giving out new information and ideas on what you can do in the library. It keeps you up-to-date with new tools, ideas and concepts to try out in your library so you can provide what is best to your students.
The Irish Times - Front Page
This one is not so much for the fact of learning more about the library but learning how to research about an upcoming trip that I will be going on! Not only does it include the new happenings of Ireland so I know what to be aware of but also the history behind Ireland so I have background information to pull from when learning about it while I am there!
The Weather Channel: National Weather Outlook
So I know I live in Montana and every five minutes the weather will change! But, I like to try to plan ahead as much as possible therefore I look at not only my hometown but the towns I will be traveling to for work on this. Additionally, I have been paying attention to Ireland's weather to try to help me decide what to pack so I am prepared! This also does a great job of giving out warnings of severe weather so I can be ready if I need to be.

Ways to use in the classroom
Blogs can be an amazing tool you can and should use in classrooms no matter what the age level is. In today's society there is a large amount of technology used with everything, so as educators we need to provide that in their learning experiences so that they can be prepared. Here are some different ways that you can use blogs in classrooms:
Statistics/Math: follow stocks
Make their own blog with charts, etc to follow the economy
Reading: have them read on different subjects they like
pick a random blog each week on a different subject then have them journal about it
Social Studies: find a newspaper from a different world each month then follow what goes on it it
Have students create a blog about their community
Politics: find different blogs and keep track of the political campaigns
when running for school elections have students set up their own blogs
Classroom: Set up a blog for the classroom to let the parents know what is going on
Put up spelling words/assignments/lesson plans for students to follow
Library: Books reviews
Follow blogs on favorite genres/authors
Read blogs about various genres students usually do not read
Post what is new in the library
Make a feature section to post differnet books to get kids introduced to new ideas
Suggestion area of how to improve library
Ideas/activites for parents to do while they are at home with their students on weekends, vacations or breaks

~*~Creating and Maintaining~*~
Creating this blog was a defiantly a new experience for me. At one point and time it was frustrating not knowing if this is what I was suppose to do, if it was what it is suppose to look like, did I use the right place or should I have chosen a different site. However, after getting through the initial first five minutes of setting it up I realized how exciting this was going to be!
It is amazing how many different sites there are to choose from to make your own blog. The reason why I chose this one was due to the fact igoogle.com has so many different gadgets I want to try out I might as well keep it as simple as possible!
Now that I do have my blog made I do beleive I will use it, especially starting to go on trips, friends moving away, catching up with new friends and just staying in touch with as many people as possible. Not only can it be used for personal use but all the different blogs I can now read right off of it to help me keep up with teaching and also my job now!
There are so many options that are going to be there now that I have this I am glad that period of frustration I was able to get through and now have my very own blog! Granted I did want to keep it as Ms. T but that was already taken :(

Beginning of the last semester!!
Hi everyone!
Summer has flown by so far, thank goodness at times, but it has yet to really begin it seems! I created this for one of my last college classes I have! As excited as I am to be done with my classes I am sad that they will be done :( After a semester off I will hopefully have chosen my area of study I will go into for my masters!
Hopefully on here I will keep up with everything for class then keep track of my trips I will be taking!!
