Being organized, ontop of everything and full of new ideas are nearly just the icing on the cake of what libraria media specialists in schools cover. One of the main responsibilities of a librarian is to communicate and collaborate with anyone and everyone including teahcers, parents, staff, town, students, etc. Through creating/maintainng/redoing a website I now appreciate the teahcers and professors who always had their lesson plans, objectives, ideas and thoughts continually updated on their website.
When asking Peggy to update her website due to the fact it had not been updated for a bit and it was going to need to be redone for the upcoming school year I had way to many spots I wanted to start from. Using Inspiration as a tool to collect my thoughts was the best thing ever. From there I had a plan and direction of what the students and parents would need from me and what I wanted them to know.
Once getting onto the website and logging in it was a breeze from there. It was much easier then blogging, myspace or facebook from the beginning. You create, edit and adjust to whatever you like. One thing I did not like was not being able to add pictures I wanted of the actual library or students. It is in the protection of the school that the technology guy has to upload them so that there is permission and it being summer that can not be done right now. However, when he does get back it will be a point, click and up in one second!
This was a great project overall to getting us on our feet in some of our last classes to being librarians on our own!

Video Reflection
Open up a book and open up a new world!!
This was a great project to help learn how to promote the library in a catchy way. Not only was it fun and something new but it was easy too! Once I got the animoto account I sat and played with it for a long time. There are so many ways you could incorporate this into the schools. Each month you could update what your doing in the library. I would defiantly do this each month when I get my own library to show what new books are available. This was a great project to do and will defiantly be carrying it over into my teaching!

IN IRELAND!!!!
WE MADE IT!!
After being delayed in Great Falls for what was suppose to be a "20 minute" delay and turning into almost a two hour one. We then run across the Denver airport to see our plane there yet the door closed to board. As our plane is about to start taxing away it pulls back up and our luggage is getting onto the plane without us!! With some work, bugging some people and running around we finally make it onto the plane after they reopen the plane!! Once in London we of course missed our next flight however, all 13 of us got onto the next flight and finally arrived into DUBLIN!!

Bear Snores On Podcast

Above is the link to get to the podcast of, Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman.
Creating this podcast was a great experience! After making this I realized how simple you can start out with the kids at first then build onto it as far as they want to go. It is a simple program that you can do wonders with! Not only is it fairly simple to use but it is a great concept!
With podcasts you can create, share and also listen to everybody’s. This allows for great opportunities to learn on and see how somebody else interprets a book maybe differently. You can use these to teach kids about different subjects you may not be a an expert on. Stories you may not have access to but would like to listen to. Listen to various ways poems can be read and may change the whole context, and so much more!
I would defiantly use them in the classroom to show students how what you may see and hear is different from others and that it is OK! Also, to use at home or when they have free time to listen to books. This would allow them to get that reading in with some excitement but yet still increase their vocabulary at the same time.
Every teacher/educational setting I think should use technology in one way or another and podcasts I see are a great way to do that! You can do it as simple or as complex as you need/want to. Plus, there are so many resources out there with podcasts we all should be taking advantage of that plus sharing our own!
